Have just come back from Owston Hall Golf Club and Hotel. We were a group of 24 golfers staying over 2 nights with 3 rounds of golf. We have to say that the care and attention from the staff was second to none and we cannot praise them enough. Our bedrooms were spacious and very comfortable. The meals were outstanding. The golf was very enjoyable.

Golf course is very poor and neglected. £28 for a round of golf that we found online for £21 however they would not honour it as I had to book online. Bunkers have grass growing in them and look like they haven’t been raked in months, fairways are like playing in heavy rough and the tee boxes have no grass left on them. Would’ve been better off going to the 9 hole course next to this one which looked in a similar condition at a fraction of the price.

Played on Robin hood course, very nice condition. Great greens, good price & friendly pro shop staff.

Oh dear. What's happened to this golf course?! It used to be fantastic around 7 or 8 years ago and now it's completely different. New greens have been constructed on a number of holes to shorten the course and they are of poor quality, other than one. They look like temporary greens in the middle of the fairways. It used to be great to play in the winter as the drainage was fabulous, however, thus has changed with mud and worn casts everywhere. It's scruffy and looks like it hasn't been looked after in years, what a shame. To charge £28.00 a round on a weekend is an absolute joke as there's better municipal courses around for less. A great golf course, completely ruined.

Great place for a society, Is it perfect? No,but after reading loads of reviews saying it's the worse course in the world I was really worried, but Jason in the pro shop promised me a great day,and we did,tee boxes 7/10 GPS watches etc didn't work,so went old school lol, fairways were great, course layout and views were amazing, greens were good, slow but good and if you want to score big points this is the place to come, just stay out of the rough absolutely brutal, staff, food, service was great and would definitely go again, had a great time.

We are not golfers, but while walking through the the grounds of Owston Hall, we called in and asked if we could have a coffee. Unfortunately there were no snacks - scones or cakes - available, only crisps and nuts., but the barman did say we could order a breakfast roll! We ordered at the bar and were told to take a seat anywhere in the sumptuous lounge. The coffee was good and came with the usual cinnamon biscuit. The only menu we could see was the wine list.

Could be sooooo much better! 1st and 7th greens were rediculous… puddles all over and even around puddles was soggy! This course with some love and attention could be best in Doncaster but just clearly doesn’t get the love it needs on the greens. Sprinklers going off whilst playing hole… even though greens had puddles the sprinkler was on in the middle of the green. Tee boxes ok to good. Fairways pretty decent Greens horrific at times. However … £20 for a weekend round is good value for money. I would rate it 4/5 if those 2 greens sorted first and rest made better. 5/5 with better tee boxes and some more hazards!

I mean, their idea of a twin room was a joke, the internet didn’t work, they couldn’t offer me ice cream for pudding or and TV or WiFi because of multi-day power cuts (apparently) but the food was nice.

Yes we stayed for our annual golf weekend. A bit annoying that the games room was out of use as well as the pool. Not much to do in the evening after a late tea with the bar closing at eleven as well. The single rooms were lovely but wish the menus could have better options for those that don't like curry etc. Loved the course though in lovely condition. All in all a great weekend again.
